EarthCraft House is a green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. EarthCraft House is a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Southface, government and industry partners. Bain-Waring is one of the first green builders of custom homes in Virginia to become a Certified EarthCraft Home Builder.

It was the late 1970s when Bob Bain decided to venture into the home building market and build his first single story rancher in Henrico County. In the 1980's Mark Waring joined him and the two continued to build small starter homes and began developing land of their own. From the 1980's and into the 1990's the company honed their skills and expanded their product adding larger custom homes and branching out into spot development for selected customers.

Today Bain-Waring Builders builds custom homes in the average price range of $400,000 with several above the $800,000 mark, and they still enjoy going back to their roots and building smaller homes when they have the opportunity. In 2007 Bain-Waring became the first EarthCraft House Certified Builder in Virginia. For almost 25 years they have molded and shaped their list of subcontractors into a strong capable team of professionals who understand and prescribe to the high quality product that Bain-Waring demands. Some of their subcontractors today have been with them since the very start.

A hands-on builder, Mark Waring, personally works with each and every customer from start to finish. He meets face-to-face with them to develop of the house plans and set the budget. He walks them through the construction process, meeting on site when the lot is cleared, after framing is completed, prior to electrical installations and before closing. And when questions arise or changes need to be made, he is there to help and keep the lines of communication open.

Bain-Waring's hallmark of construction is their high performance home systems. They build tight, energy efficient homes with the latest in heating and cooling and indoor air quality technology to create a comfortable, energy cost-saving living space. They also have the ability to do custom designs and are always watching the market for better ideas to incorporate into their homes.

Bain-Waring adheres to the idea that customer satisfaction is paramount. They want their customers to come to them with a vision and let them make it reality.
