Green Builder of EarthCraft Homes

EarthCraft House is a green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. EarthCraft House is a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Southface, government and industry partners. The EarthCraft Program has remained at the cutting edge of the relatively new "green" building movement since its enception in 2002. This program has received numerous awards including the Green Building Program of the Year in 2004 by the National Association of Home Builders. Bain-Waring successfully completed the first EarthCraft Home in Virginia in 2007. Today, all of Bain-Waring's homes are certified EarthCraft Homes.

Green Builders take a whole home approach to energy conservation and environmental impact. To receive the EarthCraft Seal of Certification, a home must receive a grade of at least 75 points, tested against the Federal Government's Energy Star criteria. Our homes consistently average over 85. This makes a Bain-Waring home are consistently 40-50% more efficient than non-EarthCraft homes of comparable size. Green Building efficiency translate directly into monthly cash savings for every Bain-Waring EarthCraft Homeowner in the form of reduced utility bills.
